June Thapa, MA, NCC
VCPS Founder & CEO
Resident in Counseling, EMDR & DBT-Trained Psychotherapist
Counseling, Social Work, and Psychology Field Supervisor
June founded the Virginia Center for Psychological Services (VCPS) in response to the overwhelming need for timely, high-quality mental health care in Northern Virginia. Early in her career, she met countless patients who had waited months—sometimes over a year—for treatment, often enduring trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD without support. Witnessing both the suffering of patients and the burnout of providers, June set out to create a practice that expands access to compassionate, evidence-based care while fostering a supportive environment for clinicians.
As a holistic psychotherapist, June brings deep empathy, insight, and respect to her work with individuals across all backgrounds and life stages. She specializes in trauma treatment, with extensive experience helping survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, military trauma, and other forms of profound adversity, as well as related conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance use, and personality disorders. Drawing from integrative, evidence-based approaches—including EMDR and DBT—she helps patients process emotions, restore self-efficacy, and align their goals with their values and strengths. Her warm, collaborative style fosters connection, resilience, and lasting personal growth.
June is completing her PhD in Developmental Psychology, with advanced study in medical neuroscience, and is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association. Through VCPS, she continues to lead with compassion, vision, and dedication to both patient care and provider wellbeing.
